DASC Parent Education

This page is a guide for families across all DASC programs (Academy, Recreation, and Travel). Our goal is to create clarity, align expectations, and support player development in a positive environment.

Development First Respect & Sportsmanship Clear Communication Positive Sidelines
Our DASC Culture

DASC is built on player development, community, and character. We coach the whole player—technical skills, decision-making, effort, and how players treat teammates, opponents, and officials.

Our standard: Encourage your player. Respect the game. Let coaches coach. Let players play.
Communication Expectations

Team communication will typically come through TeamSnap and/or PlayMetrics. Please review messages regularly and respond when action is requested.

If you have a concern

  • Start with your coach in a respectful manner.
  • Request a meeting or call—avoid game-day discussions.
  • Club leadership is available if additional support is needed.
Sideline Standards for Parents

The sideline should be a place for encouragement, not coaching or criticism.

What helps most

  • Encourage effort and teamwork.
  • Respect referees and opponents.
  • Let players make decisions.

Please avoid

  • Coaching from the sidelines.
  • Negative comments toward players or officials.
  • Discussing playing time during games.
Playing Time Philosophy

Playing time is influenced by attendance, effort, attitude, readiness, and game demands. For ages U9–U12, we aim to meet a 50% playing-time target over the course of the season.

Playing time may vary week to week based on match needs and development goals.
Player Development at Home
  • Short, consistent practice sessions.
  • Encourage creativity and confidence.
  • Ask learning-focused questions after games.
Leagues We Play In

Travel teams may compete in CPYSL or EDP. League and referee fees are included in Travel registration.
